About the Role
Aveanna Healthcare is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide professional, goal-oriented center-based therapy services to pediatric clients! Our Pediatric Day Health Care Centers are bright, fun places designed especially for children with complex medical needs. We provide a safe, caring environment for children up to age eight to receive skilled nursing care and therapies while playing and interacting with their peers. We are currently hiring a PRN/part-time Occupational Therapist to join our incredible team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of our kiddos. Position Overview
The Occupational Therapist is responsible and accountable for the evaluation, coordination, and administration of quality occupational therapy services to pediatric clients within the center. This includes creating and implementing treatment plans, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and providing regular progress updates.

Position Details:

  • Rate: Starting at $40/hour
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, daytime only; no nights and no weekends!

Essential Job Functions

  • Provide occupational therapy services as prescribed by the physician.
  • Follow policies and procedures, conforming to all applicable patient care standards, licensure regulations, and state laws.
  • Conduct comprehensive written evaluations to define occupational therapy needs, goals, and expected outcomes in conjunction with the referring physician's Plan of Treatment.
  • Develop and implement a written Plan of Care, coordinating with nursing staff and other healthcare team members to ensure continuous care.
  • Administer appropriate therapy techniques according to identified goals and treatment programs.
  • Participate in the coordination of services (including discharge planning) with the healthcare team, physicians, parent/guardians, and other relevant personnel.
  • Ensure patient safety through diligent administration of care.
  • Maintain effective communication between staff, healthcare team members, and families.
  • Serve as a resource consultant for clinical staff.
  • Provide physicians and Aveanna with written evaluations of patient needs, goals, and progress as required.
  • Attend patient case conferences and participate in in-services as necessary.
  • Supervise other personnel, such as Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) and Home Health Aides (HHAs), when required.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university/program.
  • Certification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Completion of an accredited Occupational Therapy Program.
  • Current and unrestricted license to practice as an Occupational Therapist in the state of Florida.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation, and compliance with nursing care policies and procedures.

Preferences

  • One (1) year of recent experience as an Occupational Therapist in an acute care setting.
  • Experience working with pediatric populations is preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods of walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.
  • Capability to sit and climb stairs as needed.
  • Strong visual and hearing acuity.
  • Ability to reposition patients and move equipment without assistance.
  • Capability to respond physically and mentally to emergency situations within the center.

Environment

  • Ability to function in a variety of center environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other conditions.
  • Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.
