Position Overview
The Director of Payor Relations is responsible for managing and developing key account payor relationships in compliance with all regulatory requirements, as well as leading and developing Payor Relations Managers. The role identifies and evaluates strategic opportunities within the PDS business line and capitalizes on direct payor referral revenue, third party payors, and managed care and commercial insurance relationships, all in accordance with the core values of Aveanna Healthcare.
Essential Job Functions
The growth and strategic focus on the company’s direct payor volume is critical to the success of Aveanna. This role is responsible for driving initiatives and participating in the creation and implementation of innovative growth strategies, along with managing and supporting assigned payor relationships. This role is also responsible for managing the company’s value-based care execution strategy and is entrusted with growing nationwide Preferred Payor volumes and enhancing relationships.
The Director of Payor Relations works closely with Region leadership to drive volume growth, develop relationships within assigned preferred payors and serves as a point of contact to our payor partners.
Supervises and develops Payor Relations Managers and drives growth in assigned accounts.
Leads, participates, and successfully solves strategic and business challenges related to managed care and reimbursement.
Manages reporting workflow and monitors continuous improvement along with key performance indicators.
Responsible for developing strategies and orchestrating tactical plans for preferred payor accounts.
Collaborates with PDS leadership and clinical team to develop data-driven strategies that demonstrate value added benefits to our payor networks.
Aligns with Business Development and PDS partners to leverage relationships.
Drives referral volume directly from the payor post enhanced payor agreements.
Analyzes competitive landscape and environment to determine trends and provide customer feedback to leadership.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Ability to engage in a consultative selling process that overcomes objections and indifferences while connecting client needs with the company's capabilities.
Deep understanding of managed care and health plan operations including reimbursement.
Ability to leverage established relationships and experience to gain momentum.
Ability to work independently and communicate proactively, managing multiple projects and deadlines.
Ability to maintain an outstanding level of market, customer, distribution, and product knowledge necessary to accomplish sales and marketing objectives.
Excellent negotiation, presentation, influencing and customer service skills.
Superior listening and problem-solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a very high level of confidentiality.
Demonstrate consistent closing abilities throughout the sales cycle.
Travel is required as face to face time is essential to build solid relationships.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required
At least five (5) years’ experience in a managed care environment with direct payor experience.
Environment
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions.
