Position Overview

The Regulatory Compliance & Privacy Analyst will report directly to the Compliance Supervisor. The Regulatory Compliance and Privacy Analyst will assist the Compliance Supervisor and Compliance Manager to ensure effective implementation and oversight of Aveanna’s Regulatory Compliance and Privacy Program.

Essential Job Functions

  • Collaborates with the Compliance Supervisor to ensure that compliance issues and concerns within the organization are being appropriately evaluated, investigated, and resolved.
  • Collaborates with other departments and personnel to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution.
  • Monitors and investigates compliance and privacy issues received from the Company Compliance Hotline, Compliance Email, and through the Company’s incident reporting system.
  • Conducts investigations and appropriately documents Compliance and Privacy issues.
  • Follows investigation protocols and responds to reported, suspected, or confirmed non-compliance. 
  • Assists in monitoring and reporting of Compliance Program elements and taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.
  • Assists with maintaining annual documentation of Compliance Program initiatives.
  • Monitors, tracks, and communicates Federal and State regulatory changes to the Compliance Team and other departments as applicable.
  • Assists the Compliance Supervisor in facilitating the annual Company Enterprise Risk Assessment and Workplan.
  • Assists Compliance Supervisor and Compliance Manager with maintaining Policy Management System for the Company.
  • Assists in the development and monitoring of special compliance projects with the Compliance Supervisor and members of the Company. 
  • Participates in and attends compliance and other departmental meetings that foster open lines of communication within the Company. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Previous Healthcare, Home Health, Private Duty Nursing, Hospice, Personal Care, or Therapy industry experience.
  • Knowledge of healthcare fraud and abuse laws and regulations, including the Anti-Kickback Statute.
  • Knowledge of Federal and State privacy laws and regulations, including the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage several matters at one time, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized, timely, efficient, versatile, able to work independently, able to prioritize, and detail oriented.
  • High degree of maturity and professionalism.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of legal/compliance experience.

Preferences

  • One (1) or more years of experience in conducting (or assisting with) internal investigations or complaint/grievance investigations.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in a business, professional or healthcare environment, including one (1) year experience in Compliance, Risk, Privacy, Internal Audit, Billing, Coding, Education and Training, Case Investigations, Research or equivalent related fields.
  • CHC, CHPC, or equivalent preferred within one-year of hire.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English

  • Must have visual and hearing acuity

Environment

  • Performs duties in an office or remote environment during agency operating hours.
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
  • Travel limited
