Position Overview
The Workday Reporting & Analytics Lead will drive the development and delivery of custom dashboards, standardized reporting solutions, and interactive visualizations using Workday’s reporting tools—primarily Report Writer, BIRT and Worksheets. This role is focused on creating scalable, high-impact analytics that support decision-making, with an emphasis on data accuracy and governance. This role will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to create, implement, and maintain dynamic reporting solutions that meet the organization’s needs.
Essential Job Functions
Workday Reporting & Analytics:
Lead the design, development, and maintenance of custom dashboards, delivering actionable, real-time insights tailored to business needs.
Create interactive, data-driven dashboards that align with organizational goals, providing clear representations of key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
Use calculated fields to build complex logic and metrics within reports and dashboards, enhancing the precision of data reporting and analysis.
Utilize Workday Worksheets for detailed data analysis, providing powerful, real-time reporting capabilities within Workday.
Reporting Standardization
Establish and maintain a standardized reporting framework, ensuring consistency in report structures, naming conventions, and KPI definitions across the organization.
Develop and implement reporting templates and best practices that streamline report creation, ensuring scalability and ease of use across teams.
Work with business leaders to ensure uniform reporting practices, reducing duplication and improving efficiency across functional areas.
Data Quality & Governance
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all dashboards and reports by validating inputs and performing reconciliations where necessary.
Maintain standards for reporting consistency, naming conventions, and version control to support data governance and compliance.
Collaborate with business partners to ensure dashboards and reports comply with organizational data policies and security standards.
Training & Support
Develop and deliver training on navigating and interpreting custom dashboards, Discovery Boards, and other reporting tools to ensure broad user adoption.
Provide ongoing technical support and troubleshooting for reporting issues and enhancements.
Maintain detailed documentation for dashboard solutions, data sources, and reporting workflows to ensure continued support and ease of use.
Skills & Experience
Position Qualifications
Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Education: Workday Certification
Minimum Experience: 5+ years of experience with Workday
Preferred Experience: Experience in Healthcare preferred
Special Skills:
Strong understanding of HR, finance, and business processes.
Strong expertise with Workday Report Writer ( advanced, matrix, composite reports ), BIRT, calculated fields, worksheets, and custom dashboard creation.
Proven experience in report standardization and streamlining reporting processes across large organizations.
Familiarity with Workday integration tools (e.g., EIBs, Core Connectors) and a working knowledge of Workday Studio
Solid understanding of data visualization principles and the ability to present complex data in a clear, actionable manner.
Physical Demands/Requirements:
Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 10 pounds
Prolonged walking, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
Must be able to sit and climb stairs
