Job Description
Summary
The Benefits Coordinator is responsible for supporting the administration of the company’s Health, Welfare, Absence, Retirement and other benefit plans.  This role works closely with all departments to help respond to employee inquiries, perform audits, and support internal processing and reporting.  

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Support compliance efforts related to federal, state, local and municipal regulations governing all employee benefit plans.
Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual audits of absence balances and accruals, including performing calculations and validations in Excel.
Partner with the employee benefit teams to confirm proper configuration of absence and leave plans within the HRIS system.
Help maintain and update absence/time off plans in accordance with company policy changes and evolving legislative requirements. 
Support the development and maintenance of absence/time off policies and procedures.
Assist with the implementation of new employee benefit plans, changes and initiatives. 
Respond to employee inquiries related to all employee benefit plans including Tier 1 and 2 tickets through the internal JIRA ticketing system.
Process agency requested medical support notices, verifications of employment and Medicare requests for employment information.
Assist in the annual Open Enrollment process, including reviewing communications, testing web platforms, and supporting data analysis and reporting. 
Manage incoming employee benefits related mail and returned communications, including coordination with offsite storage. 
Assist in distribution of employee communications. 
Other duties as assigned.

Requirements / Education / Experience

At least 2 or more years of Employee Benefits and/or Human Resources experience.
Familiarity with multi-state mandated sick leave plans preferred.
HRIS system experience, preferably Workday.
Ability to review, understand plan documents, laws and regulations.
Ability to evaluate systems and procedures to develop improvements.
Ability to analyze and interpret data – including intermediate Excel skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively in a fast-paced environment independently and with a team.
Knowledge of employee benefit plans, policies and procedures.
Knowledge of state and federal laws regarding ERISA, HIPAA, FMLA, ADAAA and the ACA.
Knowledge of Workday a plus.
