Aveanna Healthcare – the nation’s largest provider of pediatric in-home nursing services -- has an immediate opportunity for an experienced, people-focused HR generalist to join our growing People Services Team.   Based at our regional office in Seal Beach, California (where regular office hours are required), the People Services Business Partner (PSBP) serves as consultant to management and employees over a broad range of human resource-related issues, acting as resource and advisor to our employees and managers, and as liaison to other Aveanna departments throughout the western United States.  Reporting to the Regional Vice President of People Services, this vital role provides regular input and feedback to the People Services Leadership Team and works with them to develop and champion integrated solutions. The PSBP also formulates partnerships across shared services to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization, while maintaining an effective level of Human Resources expertise as well as business literacy and knowledge about Aveanna’s culture and its competition.

Position Overview
The People Services Business Partner (PSBP) position serves as a consultant to both management and employees on human resource-related issues. The successful PSBP acts as a resource and advisor to employees and managers, as well as a liaison to other departments.  The role listens, advises, and reports on HR-related issues to the People Services Leadership Team. Communicating needs proactively to the People Services Team, the PSBP works with the People Services Leadership Team to develop and champion integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across shared services to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The PSBP maintains an effective level of Human Resources expertise, as well as business literacy and knowledge about Aveanna’s culture and its competition.

Requirements

Essential Job Functions                                         

  • Designs, supports and implements People Services programs and initiatives, which may include Orientation, Employment Verifications, Policies & Procedures, Mergers & Acquisition initiatives, and other projects as needed.
  • Helps deploy Human Resources solutions, programs and policies.
  • Supports the resolution of employee relations issues. May be involved in conducting investigations and making recommendations.
  • Maintains knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance. Partners with Leadership as needed/required.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Identifies training needs for employees.
  • Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Identifies opportunities to streamline processes to improve the delivery of our programs and services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of HR Generalist or comparable experience
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines and HRIS systems, including compensation practices, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.

Preferences

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) and/or PHR credential preferred

  • Strong listening and communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels of managers and employees
  • Critical thinking skills and the ability to research and analyze data
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, and statutes, which govern employment policies and practices
  • Experience working in a Healthcare environment a plus
  • Experience working with employees in California a plus

Environment

  • Performs duties in an office environment located in Seal Beach, California during agency operating hours
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
