💙 Facility Licensed Nurse (LPN/LVN)

Full-Time | Pediatric Day Health Center | 36+ Hours per Week

Join our dedicated team at the Pediatric Day Health Center (PDHC) — a bright, nurturing environment designed for children with complex medical needs. As a Facility Licensed Nurse (LPN/LVN), you’ll provide compassionate, high-quality nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN), helping our kiddos grow, play, and thrive in a safe and supportive setting.

This is a full-time position (36+ hours per week on average) offering you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference while practicing excellence in pediatric nursing care.


🩺 Essential Job Functions

As a core member of our clinical team, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and happiness of each child.

👩‍⚕️ Clinical Care & Monitoring

  • Monitor and document each patient’s status through ongoing observation and assessment.

  • Identify patient care priorities to ensure delivery of quality nursing services.

  • Notify the supervising RN of any changes in patient status, new physician orders, or updates to the plan of care.

  • Implement physician’s orders and communicate status updates to the care team and families.

  • Maintain thorough, accurate documentation of care, progress, and communications.

🤝 Collaboration & Communication

  • Foster and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

  • Assess family dynamics, strengths, and needs related to each child’s medical condition and development.

  • Provide education, counseling, and emotional support to families, helping them navigate their child’s care.

  • Participate in case management meetings, staff training, and in-services to ensure quality and consistency in care delivery.

🧠 Leadership & Professional Development

  • Serve as a mentor and resource for new employees during orientation.

  • Demonstrate initiative and sound clinical judgment in decision-making.

  • Stay informed on current pediatric trends, research, and advancements in nursing care.

  • Maintain compliance with all company policies, procedures, and the Nurse Practice Act.

🚸 Clinical Expertise & Skill Application

  • Administer oxygen, aerosol treatments, and medications as ordered.

  • Manage and monitor feeding tubes (G-tube, N/G, J-tube) and IV therapies.

  • Start peripheral IVs and administer medications via IV or port as appropriate.

  • Supervise preparation of meals, snacks, and feedings according to patient needs.

  • Respond promptly to pediatric emergencies and provide necessary interventions.

  • Open or close the center as assigned per shift schedule.

  • Complete annual skills labs, mandatory in-services, and required CEUs.


🎓 Requirements

  • Active LPN or LVN license in the state of practice.

  • No disciplinary board action related to nursing license.

  • Proficient knowledge of home ventilators, tracheostomies, suctioning, apnea monitors, oxygen, and tube feedings.

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

  • Negative TB test or chest X-ray.

  • Satisfactory criminal background check.

  • Knowledge of quality care standards for medically complex children.

💪 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Capable of frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, kneeling, and crouching.

  • Ability to assist in lifting patients up to 50 lbs (with help as needed).

  • Sufficient strength and manual dexterity to operate medical equipment safely.

  • Must possess strong hearing, vision, touch, and smell acuity.

  • Able to respond swiftly in emergency situations and provide physical support or CPR as required.

  • Flexible and agile — ready to move, adapt, and protect children when needed.


🏥 Work Environment

  • Function effectively in diverse environments, including exposure to latex, allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases.

  • May involve transporting patients or assisting during travel between home and center.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and positive environment for every child in your care.
