Position Overview

As a key member of Aveanna’s contracting department, the Contracts Specialist is responsible for the review, negotiation and maintenance of contracts and timely communication of terms to key stakeholders within the organization.

Requirements

Key Results Expected:

  • Prepare template contracts to support business operations. Review and finalize any revisions to templates requested by the contracting party.
  • Review and analyze third party contracts for compliance with company guidelines and operational/financial risks.  Negotiate acceptable language. Communicate key terms and potential risks to stakeholders, seeking approval of non-standard terms as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal compliance, legal, billing, people services and other departments as needed to ensure adherence to contract terms. 
  • Maintains project status of end-to-end contract lifecycle in company contract management system advising key stakeholders on project status and issues that may impact relationship with contracting party.
  • Ensures contract execution in accordance with company policy and all required documentation is received and filed.
  • Provides contract summary, communicates, and distributes finalized contracts and amendments to appropriate internal areas of the organization.
  • Manages and supports completion of RFPs in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaborate with revenue cycle management to ensure proper implementation of contract terms into various billing systems.
  • Ensure integrity of data entered into contract management system.
  • Acts as liaison to internal and external customers to respond to inquiries regarding contracts, contract process and resolve any contract issues, collaborating with key stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Sharing and clarifying contract processes and details with operations and sales staff.

Minimum Requirements:

  • College degree required or equivalent experience in Contract Management preferably in a healthcare provider setting.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.  Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Results driven with ability to self-direct and work independently showing initiative while seeking guidance when appropriate.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload and be flexible in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated strength in computer software, e.g., MS Office; internet-based research; experience with contract management system preferred.

    Environment
    • Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours
    • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
