Position Details

The Executive Director (hereafter referred to as “ED”) is responsible for managing and overseeing leadership and administrative functions across three Aveanna branch locations, collectively maintaining a minimum of 3,000 hours of care. The ED collaborates with cross-functional teams including operations, clinical, and business development to ensure annual business growth, patient care outcomes, and financial objectives are met or exceeded across all assigned branches.

Serving as the senior leader for their assigned branch teams, the ED role offers a dynamic work environment where individuals can contribute their expertise in either clinical or non-clinical capacities. The ED embodies Aveanna’s Core Values by building and strengthening relationships with patients, families, field staff, and referral sources, while serving as an advocate and trusted mentor for leadership teams at each location.

The ED possesses strong written and verbal communication skills and ensures consistent adoption of all branch-level processes and training standards, drawing from experience working in a high-volume, multi-site environment. The ED ensures all assigned locations fully adhere to Federal and State regulations governing home care agencies.


Essential Job Functions

Team Management

  • Interviews and selects competent staff with emphasis on recruiting the best qualified candidates across multiple branch locations.

  • Ensures annual employee evaluations are completed, goals are established, and performance expectations are achieved.

  • Oversees, promotes, and monitors employee development programs and training, including orientation, in-service, and continuing education requirements.

  • Meets routinely with branch leadership and supervisors; participates in area and regional meetings as requested.

Client Relations

  • Collaborates with branch and area leadership to deliver effective, mutually beneficial introductions with new patients, families, and caregivers.

  • Ensures completion of periodic patient home visits and assessments of referral sources across all assigned branches.

  • Partners with the business development team to establish strategic, growth-oriented objectives.

  • Supervises, evaluates, and addresses client satisfaction survey results to increase patient and family satisfaction.

Business Operations

  • Plans and implements growth strategies for multiple branches while maintaining required hours of care.

  • Demonstrates strong business acumen with the ability to interpret financial statements, activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement.

  • Assesses and determines areas requiring cost mitigation and process improvements.

  • Consistently meets all reporting deadlines.

  • Closely monitors billing and collection efforts to ensure timely and effective revenue cycle processes across locations.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (business, healthcare administration, or related field preferred).

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of management experience, preferably in a multi-site or healthcare environment.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 2 hours at a time between branch locations.

  • Must satisfy all state requirements, including background checks and any applicable work authorization.


Preferences

  • Healthcare and/or pediatric home care experience strongly preferred.

  • Experience overseeing multiple locations or high-volume operations.


Physical Demands

  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English.

  • Must be able to travel as required for the role.

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling of up to 25 pounds.

  • Prolonged walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting.

  • Ability to sit and climb stairs.

  • Adequate visual and hearing acuity.

  • Strong sense of smell and touch.


Environment

Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments, which may involve exposure to allergens and other varying conditions.
