About the Role
At Aveanna, welcoming a patient into our care is both a privilege and a responsibility we take to heart. As a Clinical Supervisor – RN, you will play a vital leadership role in ensuring high-quality, compassionate homecare for children and adults. You’ll guide clinical caregivers, coordinate patient care, and help drive outstanding clinical outcomes—all while making a meaningful impact in the lives of patients and families.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee care for assigned patients from admission through discharge, ensuring individualized, goal-directed care plans
Conduct on-site supervisory visits to assess patients, families, caregivers, and home environments, completing timely documentation
Provide on-call support as assigned to ensure responsive and continuous patient care
Uphold CHAP accreditation standards and promote regulatory compliance
Support caregiver retention through mentorship, engagement, and a positive work environment
Ensure proper availability and use of equipment and clinical supplies
Assess patients and provide direct patient care when needed
Promote satisfaction and manage expectations for internal and external customers
Evaluate nursing services for quality, effectiveness, and opportunities for improvement
Analyze clinical data and report findings to improve outcomes and reduce risk
Provide nursing updates and obtain authorizations for continued care
Deliver ongoing supervision, training, orientation, and performance evaluation for clinical caregivers
Participate in hiring, performance management, and termination decisions as appropriate
Maintain compliance with company policies, professional standards, and state and federal regulations
Promote ethical, non-discriminatory, and patient-centered care
Participate in after-hours calls as required
Follow the established chain of command for communication and reporting
Qualifications
Diploma, Associate, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program
Active RN license in the applicable state(s)
Clinical experience as required by state and federal regulations
Valid driver’s license with acceptable motor vehicle record
Preferred Experience
Previous RN experience in private duty nursing or home health
Demonstrated ability to manage and support private duty nursing programs
Skills and Abilities
Strong commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice
Knowledge of regulatory compliance and accreditation standards
Ability to work effectively with families of varying backgrounds and resources
Sound clinical judgment and quick decision-making
Excellent time management, organization, and attention to detail
Effective communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Dedication to clinical excellence and continuous improvement
Physical Requirements
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
Ability to travel independently (company vehicle not provided)
Occasional lifting, pushing, pulling, or carrying up to 40 pounds
Prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and twisting
Ability to sit, climb stairs, and respond quickly in emergency situations
Adequate vision, hearing, smell, and touch to safely provide patient care
Ability to reposition patients and move equipment as needed
Work Environment
Ability to work in a variety of home environments
Potential exposure to allergens, blood, bodily fluids, and infectious diseases
