Position Overview

The People Services Business Partner (PSBP) position operates with guidance and support from People Services Leadership serving as a People Services resource to leaders and employees.  Communicating needs pro-actively, the PSBP collaborates with the People Services Leadership Team to develop and champion integrated solutions. The position formulates partnerships across shared services to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The PSBP maintains an effective and increasing level of Human Resources knowledge and business acumen.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serves as a first point of contact for assigned leaders and employees regarding People Services policies, procedures, and processes.
  • Responds to routine employee relations matters, escalating complex or high-risk issues to People Services Leadership as appropriate.
  • Assists managers with basic performance management processes, including documentation guidance, policy interpretation, and next steps.
  • Supports the investigation process for employee concerns under the guidance of senior People Services team members.
  • Partners with leaders to reinforce company culture and promote consistent application of policies and practices.
  • Supports People Services projects as assigned, ensuring timely completion.
  • Continuously builds HR knowledge and business literacy relevant to assigned client groups.
  • Provides support to employees and managers with incoming questions and issues via telephone and email to include answering basic policy questions, handling employee inquiries, forwarding requested documents and providing other related information.
  • Effectively addresses all assigned People Services tickets and inquiries, ensuring proper research, investigation and resolution.
  • Supports and implements People Services programs and initiatives which may include interpreting Policies & Procedures and other projects as needed.
  • Maintains and increases knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance, escalating issues to People Services Leadership as appropriate.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Identifies training and communication needs for employees and collaborates with leaders to develop and deliver appropriate materials.
  • Demonstrates strong verbal and written communications skills and has the ability to coordinate various activities in a constantly changing environment.
  • Detail oriented, organized and able to multi-task to meet deadlines and coordinate various processes.
  • Serves as a key escalation point for People Services matters, concerns and/or complaints.
  • Manages a variety of projects at the direction of People Services leadership, ensuring projects are completed timely and within budget.
  • Demonstrates strong MS Office skills, including Word and Excel.

Required Qualifications

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of Human Resources administrative support or comparable experience supporting large, multi-state teams.
  • Requires foundational knowledge of HR administration, policies, and employment law, with the ability to apply guidance under direction.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient and company proprietary information.
  • Must have the ability to relate professionally and positively and work cooperatively with clients and other employees at all levels.

  • PHR Certification

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to speak, write, read and understand English
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of 25 pounds
  • Prolonged sitting, walking, standing, bending, kneeling, reaching, twisting
  • Must be able to sit and climb stairs
  • Must have visual and hearing acuity
  • Must have strong sense of smell and touch

Environment

  • Performs duties in an office environment during agency operating hours
  • Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
