Executive Director – Branch Operations

Position Overview

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the administrative leadership and daily operations of an Aveanna branch. This role ensures operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and strategic growth of the branch. The Executive Director is accountable for maintaining compliance with all federal and state regulations governing Home Health Care Agencies and ensuring adherence to Aveanna policies and procedures.

The Executive Director is appointed by and reports to the Governing Body and maintains a direct reporting relationship with the Area Vice President (AVP) 


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Staff Management

  • Conduct annual employee performance evaluations and establish performance goals for the upcoming year while monitoring ongoing progress.

  • Recruit, interview, and hire qualified staff in collaboration with supervisors, with a focus on attracting top talent.

  • Support staff development through onboarding, training, in-service education, and continuing education opportunities.

  • Ensure appropriate supervision of staff during all service hours.

  • Hold regular meetings with supervisors and participate in regional meetings as requested.

Client Relations & Service Excellence

  • Partner with the Nursing Director to conduct intake meetings with new client families.

  • Participate in weekly care coordination meetings to prepare for new patient admissions.

  • Monitor and evaluate client satisfaction surveys and address areas for improvement.

  • Manage incidents and resolve service-related concerns to maintain high standards of care.

Business Operations & Growth

  • Develop and implement strategies to support branch growth and service expansion.

  • Review financial statements, operational reports, and performance data to assess productivity, measure goal attainment, and identify opportunities for cost management and program improvement.

  • Ensure timely completion of all required reports and operational documentation.

  • Maintain full compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations.

  • Collaborate with the Client Relations Director (CRD) and Client Relations Associate (CRA) to maintain relationships with referral sources.

  • Oversee recruitment processes to ensure adequate staffing levels to support client care.

  • Provide oversight of internal billing and collections processes to ensure accurate and timely claims submission.


Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Successful completion of a criminal background check in accordance with Aveanna policy.

  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).


Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • 2–3 years of management experience preferred.

  • Prior healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  • Pediatric healthcare experience preferred.


Physical Requirements

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

  • Ability to travel as needed (company does not provide vehicles or transportation).

  • Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, twist, and sit for extended periods.

  • Ability to climb stairs.

  • Adequate visual and hearing acuity.

  • Functional sense of smell and touch.

This position may require working in a variety of environments that may include exposure to allergens and other environmental conditions.
