We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to join our pediatric care team in Melbourne, Florida.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Physical Therapist who enjoys working with children and families while having a consistent weekday schedule. You’ll develop and implement individualized treatment plans designed to help patients improve mobility, function, independence, and overall quality of life.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide high-quality physical therapy services according to physician orders and established plans of care.

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized therapy goals and treatment plans.

  • Document evaluations, progress, goals, and expected outcomes accurately and timely.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, families, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.

  • Educate and support parents and caregivers throughout the therapy process.

  • Assist with care coordination and discharge planning.

  • Serve as a clinical resource to team members.

  • Supervise PTAs and HHAs when appropriate.

  • Complete OASIS assessments when permitted by state regulations.

  • Maintain compliance with company policies, professional standards, licensure requirements, confidentiality standards, and applicable state laws.

What We’re Looking For

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an APTA-approved program.

  • Current, unrestricted Florida Physical Therapist license.

  • Current CPR certification.

  • Strong clinical assessment and documentation skills.

  • Ability to meet continuing education requirements established by the state.

Preferred:

  • At least one year of recent Physical Therapist experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting.

  • Pediatric experience strongly preferred.

Position Overview
The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning, conducting and implementing physical therapy treatment program in accordance with the medical referral and evaluation to restore or maintain patient’s well being while adhering to confidentiality standards and professional boundaries at all times.

Essential Job Functions
• Delivery of physical therapy services to comply with prescribed physician orders.
• Follow policies and procedures and conforms to all applicable patient care standards, licensure regulations and state laws.
• Provide a written evaluation defining physical therapy needs, goals, progress and expected outcomes in conjunction with referring physician’s Plan of Treatment.
• Participates in coordination of services (including discharge planning) with health care team, physicians, parent/guardians, nurses, etc.
• Maintain effective communication between staff, healthcare team members and family.
• Serve as a resource consultant for clinical staff.
• Supervises other personnel (PTA, HHA) as applicable.
• Completes OASIS assessments where allowed by state professional practice and regulation.

Requirements
• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association approved program
• Current, unrestricted state license as a Physical Therapist in the state of practice
• Current CPR certification
• Demonstrated proficiency in clinical assessments, documentation and compliance with policies and procedures

Additional state specific requirements:
• Continuing Education as required by state

Preferences
• One (1) year of recent experience as a Physical Therapist in an acute care or rehab setting
• Pediatric experience preferred

• Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids and infectious diseases
