Position Overview

The Area Operations Director (AOD) provides strategic operational leadership across an assigned Area consisting of a minimum of four (4) locations, with final scope of responsibility determined by business needs, market complexity, organizational priorities, and approval by the Regional President.
The AOD is accountable for the operational, financial, and leadership performance of assigned markets by driving consistent execution, operational excellence, caregiver recruitment and retention, market growth, regulatory compliance, and high-quality patient care. This role partners closely with Operations Directors and serves as a key leadership partner to the Area Vice President of Operations by translating strategic priorities into operational execution, establishing performance expectations, monitoring key operational metrics, identifying performance gaps, and implementing sustainable improvement strategies. The AOD also develops and mentors Operations Directors, builds leadership bench strength through coaching, succession planning, and leadership development, and partners cross-functionally with Clinical Operations, People Services, Recruiting, Finance, Revenue Cycle, and Business Development to remove operational barriers and improve organizational performance.

Compensation: $115,000-$125,000 Annual Salary + Quarterly Incentive Potential 

Essential Job Functions
Responsible for creating, developing and maintaining effective and efficient operational processes and systems that are aligned with company’s business objectives.
Provides overall leadership to Operations Director and location teams.
Create an environment focused on continuous improvement.
Partner with the Area Vice President of Operations to manage the operations to include all clinical, financial, growth, risk & compliance initiatives.
Contribute to creating a multi-year service and solution strategy.
Present ongoing assessment of market trends and competitive landscape in support of the strategy; and provides oversight of service delivery execution.
Assist with developing, attracting and retaining a high-performing workforce.
Build and sustain a strong leadership bench by coaching, developing, and preparing Operations Directors and other emerging leaders for expanded responsibility.
Identify process improvement opportunities.
Responsible and accountable for the financial management of assigned locations, to include cash collections and accounts receivable management.
Collaborate with Operations Directors to ensure continued branch growth by expanding new and existing client base.
Guide Operations Directors in building, maintaining, and strengthening referral relationships to support a consistent and healthy referral pipeline.
Provide appropriate, quality patient care by ensuring patient care goals and standards of care are met.
Provides overall leadership to Operations Directors and location teams to promote teamwork and to ensure objectives are accomplished with measurable results. Provides direction and constructive feedback.
Assist with development and execution of location budget and annual business plan.
Ensure all programs, policies, procedures and practices are in alignment with all local, state and federal guidelines.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.
Experience in pediatric or adult homecare services or similar multi-site healthcare services business.
Five years of experience in proven leadership role, related health care management or home care management experience.
Frequent travel within assigned area. Valid Driver’s License and Acceptable MVR.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of basic software (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Must have visual and hearing acuity.
Must have strong sense of smell and touch.

Environment
Perform duties in an office environment during agency operating hours
Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other various conditions
